Product Review: Backpacks

Although some classes may be online this year, a lot of students (like me) have some in person as well. I always look forward to buying school supplies every year, and, as an English major, need one equipped to hold an absurd amount of books. Regardless of whether you have classes online or in person, buying a new backpack will likely help things feel normal for you again and put you in the school mindset (plus, you’ll get a new bag for next year). Here are my favorites.

1. Jansport

If I’m being completely honest, I’m a huge fan of Jansport backpacks. I’ve gotten them many times over the years, and recently got a new one. Their bags are durable and come in a lot of patterns. They also have large ones with many compartments for book nerds like me who need to lug a lot of weight around. Highly recommend!

2. Fjallraven Kanken

When i first go to college, I was obsessed with Fjallraven Kanken backpacks. Although they aren’t particularly large, their look and style are unmatched in the world of backpacks. I love the artsy look they have, and all the fun colors you can buy. I especially like the look of these bags with pins on them! These bags are of great quality and, if you don’t need a gigantic backpack, they’re great.

3. NorthFace

NorthFace in general has an impeccable reputation in terms of producing quality products that endure all types of weather conditions. Since my university is in an extremely cold and snowy area, many people wear these backpacks. They are known to be very well-made and can hold a lot of weight. Personally, I don’t love the style of them and wish there were better options with regard to the colors they come in. However, a couple of my friends back at school swear by these things for getting them through the chilly school year.

4. Herschel Supply Co.

I see people sporting Herschel Supply Co. backpacks all around campus. They come in many different styles and colors, and are all in all very fashionable. I love the look of these bags. My roommate has one and really enjoys it. She says it’s of great quality, and the perfect size to take everywhere with her. If you don’t have a ton to carry and want something practical and stylish, these bags are for you.

5. Ridgebake

Ridgebake backpacks are definitely an up-and-coming trend. I love the look of the leather straps on these bags. They look like they can hold a decent amount, and come in many colors. I’ve been starting to see more and more people get these bags. I haven’t personally tried these ones yet, but I’ve heard good things and plan on trying one.
